Alice Marie (Fortune) Baiter

Alice Marie Baiter, 78, of West Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Union Hospital.

She was born September 6, 1940 in West Terre Haute to Wilbert Fortune and Dorothy Irene Decker Fortune.

Alice owned A&B Drywall and Diana’s Dream Tans. She loved to play Bingo, poker and Yahtzee.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Elden Baiter; a daughter, Diana Cottom Brown; 2 sisters; Sondra Vanlandingham and Berdina Prouse; and Berdina’s husband, Robert Prouse.

She is survived by her sons, Billy John Baiter and Carter Robinson (Brittany); her daughter, Tammy Switzer; grandchildren, Heath Cottom (Susan), NiCole Patterson (Michael) and Natasha Mershon; her great grandchildren, Heath Cottom II, Krista Cottom, Taylor Kleinberg, Dominque Robinson, Blaez Patterson, Destineigh Robinson, Tyler Mershon, Mackenzie Mershon, and Damien Jacobs; her great great grandchildren, Logan Cottom, Braxton Cottom, Tuff Kleinberg, and Ian “Deuce” Robinson; and her nephew, David Prouse.

Services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Todd Umphries will be officiating; burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park.
