Anna Belle Hargis (Edington) Hoopingarner

Anna Belle Hargis Hoopingarner, 90 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:50 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  She was born in New Goshen on October 16, 1928 to Pearl V. Edington and Francis Sharp Edington.

Anna Belle is survived by her husband Norman E. Hoopingarner, and her three children; William J. Hargis (wife Karen), Rose Riley (husband John), and Louise Milner (husband Kevin).  Also surviving are three step-children; Pearl Hoopingarner (wife Connie), Donna Price (husband Ralph), and Janet Halter (husband Darrell), a sister-in-law, Imogene Tiller (husband Jerry), as well as 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Anna Belle was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Hargis, as well as 4 sisters and 1 brother.  She attended Trinity Church, and enjoyed playing the piano and serving as a youth leader at church, but most of all, she loved her kids.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor George Guinn officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Tecumseh.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to VNA and Hospice of the Wabash Valley, in her memory.
