Billy Ray Selvia

Billy Ray Selvia, 78 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 in his residence.  He was born in Terre Haute on May 29, 1945 to Luther Selvia and Mary Fortune Selvia.

Billy was the former owner of Macksville Laundry in West Terre Haute and also worked at the Rockville Correctional Center.  He was a 33^rd degree Mason and member of the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge # 687 F & AM, and served as Region 5 Vice President of the Indiana Jaycees as well as the National Director for Region 5 Jaycees.  He also was the tournament director of the Indiana Bass Club and was an open wheel race fan.

Billy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diana Halstead Selvia and two children, Greg Selvia (Trudy) and Lauri Fritz (Chris).  He is also survived by four grandchildren; Brand Selvia, Gabrielle Selvia, Creed Fritz, and Christopher Fritz.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kristen Rae Selvia-Butler, and a granddaughter, Rae-Ann Fritz.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3^rd St., Wes Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 7:00 PM, with his daughter-in-law, Trudy Selvia speaking.  A private family burial will take place on Friday, January 19, 2024 in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association of the Terre Haute Humane Shelter, in his memory.
