Carl Benjamin "Ben" Franklin, Sr.

Carl Benjamin “Ben” Franklin, Sr., 80 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, June 9,2018 at 5:06 PM in his residence.  He was born in Paris, IL on October 31, 1937 to Carl R. Franklin and Jeanette Prouse Franklin.

Carl was a retired truck driver with Midwest Oil Co., and prior to that, worked at the Zephyr Gas Station in West Terre Haute.  He was a hardworking family man and enjoyed taking golf cart rides with his dog Teddy.

Carl is survived by his wife June M. May Franklin, and by their daughter, Karen Rogers (husband Harold).  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren; Mike Franklin, Angie Franklin, Brad Henson, and Amy Henson, as well as 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Franklin.

Carl was preceded in death by his son, Ben Franklin, Jr., and also by his brothers Bob Franklin, Floyd Franklin, and sisters Dorothy Curts, Mildred Devers, and Adeline Brown.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN, on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
