Charles Thomas Harris

Charles Thomas Harris, 74, of West Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at 3:20 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1950 to Harold L. Harris and Thelma M. Hedden Harris.

Charles retired in 2015 after 42 years of employment from Columbian Home Products. He was a patrolman for the W.T.H. Police Department in the 1980’s and was a volunteer fireman for 26 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed the time spent at deer camp.

Charles is survived by his four children, Tod Harris (Mandy), Kelly Roberts (Brian), Troy Harris (Jay), and Mike Harris (Carol), 10 grandchildren, Ciera Harris, Trevor Harris (Paige), Ryan Roberts, Thomas Roberts (Baylei), Dylan Roberts (Sophia), Danielle Reiter (Austin), Emily Holbert (Matt), Madison Harris, Jacob Harris, and Chloe Harris, 11 great grandchildren, Parker, Sawyer, Charlotte, Weston, Caroline, Benjamin, Jaxx, Harper, Brystol, Chrislyn, and Jalyn. He also leaves behind 3 sisters, Dorothy Chrisman (Jim), Myrna Hilton (Gene), Sherry Morley (Carl), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Janice L. Mefford Harris, one brother, Harold Lee Harris and one sister, Debbie Harris.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 17, 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
