Charles Nicholas “Nick” Snyder

Nick Snyder, 59, of Terre Haute, IN and formerly of Paris, IL died September 21, 2022 at Cobblestone Crossing Health Campus in Terre Haute.
In keeping with Nick’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Fitpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., West Terre Haute on Thursday, September 29 2022 at 6:30 pm EST. Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 4-6:30 on Thursday. The family requests that those attending wear Chicago Cubs or Bears attire.
Nick was born on December 24, 1962, the son of Charles J. and Patricia J. (Vice) Snyder.
He was a registered official for the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) and was a baseball and softball umpire for more than 30 of his 59 years. Prior to that, he was a building service worker at the University of Illinois. Nick was an avid Chicago Bears fan, loved flower gardening, but most of all he loved the game of baseball, the Chicago Cubs and his dog Daisy. He cherished times he was able to visit with his kids, grandkids and extended family.
Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Snyder of Terre Haute; children Alex (Staci) Snyder, Sarah Switzer and Jacob (Sabrina) Snyder all of Terre Haute, Quinten Snyder (and girlfriend Katie Wise) and Calli Snyder both of Paris; stepchildren Makayla Messer, Jonathan Marion (and fiancé Melinda Hoke), and Shannon Deutsch (and fiancé Nate Feier), all of Terre Haute; one brother, Kim (Margaret) Snyder of Paris, and one sister, Rebecca (Verlin) Richardson of Mahomet, IL; one niece, Caitlin and two nephews, Adam and Ethan as well as fifteen grandchildren, aunts, uncles and several first and second cousins.
Preceding him in death are his parents, grandparents, and an infant brother, Michael.
Because of his love for gardening, flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to an animal rescue of the donor’s choice.
