Deborah L. Bahr, 65 of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in Union Hospital. She was born in Vigo County on March 9, 1956 to Harold V. Rost and Frances Ruth Graham Rost.
Debbie was a registered nurse at Union Hospital and she retired from the hospital on March 28, 2019. While working there, she worked 18 ½ years in the dietary unit, and also worked 18 ½ years as an RN after her State License was first issued in October of 2000. She was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church and loved playing softball, and was in charge of the Union Hospital Corporate Olympic Team. Her faith was extremely important to her and one way she displayed that was through the many mission trips she took to Haiti and within the United States. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel she genuinely cared about them.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Charles L. Bahr and their children; Damon Walls (Lela), Matthew Bahr (Angie), Andrew Bahr (Lyndi), Brittany Bahr (Bobby), and Breanna Keith (Landon), as well as her parents, Harold and Carole Rost. She had a very special place in her heart for her granddaughter Ellie Grace Walls, and also leaves behind eleven other grandchildren; Elijah, Arianna, Davin, Peyson, Zaiden, Jude, Lilah, Lucy, Ava, Bella, and Joel, as well as her siblings; David Bricker, Steve Rost (Kelly), and Lorrie Myers (Scott), as well as an aunt, Becky McPheeters. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Ruth Rost, as well as her 1st husband, Donald Walls, her son Sean Walls, in-laws Dorothy and Elmer Walls, and a brother, Michael Bricker.
Funeral services will be held at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, 1050 S. Thorpe Place, West Terre Haute, IN on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Tom Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in Sugar Creek Baptist Church. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Union Hospital ICU nurses, particularly Megan and Jill, and nurse practitioner, Shontae. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
