Delores Ann Baker Cottom, 81 of Terre Haute, Passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Majestic Care of Deming Park. She was born in Terre Haute on July 13, 1942 to Robert “Bob” Baker and Ruth Zenor Baker.
Delores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Terre Haute Moose Lodge, Marine Corps League Ladies Auxiliary, the U.S. Power Squadron, and volunteered at Regional Hospital. She loved to square dance with The Swinging Mates and The Promenaders, but most importantly she was a very giving and loving person and was always encouraging others. She lived life to the fullest and lived to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Delores is survived by her son Doug Edwards, her sister Diana Heckelsburg (Paul), and her brother Don Baker, as well as two step-daughters, Verdaina Sutherland (Brian), and Pamela Loyd. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Doug Edwards, Jr. (Robyn), Elana Nichols (Jeremiah), Nicolas Edwards, Karli Edwards, and Lyman Loyd, David Loyd, Jr., Brent Poff, and Patrick Poff, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Cottom, her son Jim Edwards, Jr., her daughter Lorna Cottom, two brothers, Ron Baker and Wayne Baker, and a nephew, Ronnie Lee Baker.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tere Haute Moose Lodge, in her memory.
