Dennis Alan Abrams

Dennis Alan Abrams, 74 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 in his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born in West Terre Haute on February 6, 1949 to Merrill Abrams and Louise Donham Abrams.

Dennis was a bricklayer and member of Bricklayers Local # 4, he was proud of the various projects he had been a part of and enjoyed pointing out those jobs when completed.  He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, watching the birds and the deer, as well as gardening, but his family was always first and foremost.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bobbie Abrams and their three children;  Annie Shannon (Ron), Tim Abrams (Pam), and Denise Hughbanks (Dave).  He is also survived by his grandchildren; McKenzie, Nicholas, Miranda, Morgan, Olivia, Kristina, Ashley, Jessica, and Nicole, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sherry and Ed Lizdas, as well as seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Thomas Abrams.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Keith Gaddis officiating.  Friends may visit with and share memories with the family from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Thursday in the funeral home.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen and burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Dunlap Cemetery.  The family would like to thank the entire staff and the physicians on the 2nd floor and the emergency room at Union Hospital.
