Derick Floyd Walters

Derick Floyd Walters, 41 of West Terre haute, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.   He was born in Terre Haute on April 19, 1982.

Derick was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a member of the West Terre Haute American Legion Post # 501.

Derick is survived by his three children; Reese Addison Walters, Wyatt Avery Walters, and Olivia Aleese Walters, his parents, Marla and Ernie Walters, and his siblings; Beau Walters, Allyson Walters, and Leslee Walters.  He is also survived by his uncle Clifford “Sonny” Allison (Cathy), Grandfather Ernesto Decenna (Mary), great aunt Carol Hutchins (Gene), niece Ysabella Walters, and nephew Peyton T. Reece Walters, as well as many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3^rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM, with military honors provided by the Vigo County Honor Guard.   Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a scholarship fund for Derick’s children.
