DuWayne Edward Ramsey, 80, of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019. He was born in Marshall, IL on November 10th, 1938 to Don Ramsey and Lucille (Black) Ramsey Stoops.
DuWayne went to Marshall High School and graduated in 1956. He met the love of his life, Barbara Bryan and they married in 1957. Together they raised three children. He coached Little League for his sons. He was previously a carpenter and then a co-owner of Overhead Door until his retirement. As a finished carpenter, he made sure that all his children and grandchildren knew how to use power tools. He loved westerns, horse races, playing cards and “resting his eyes”. He enjoyed cruises with his family and traveling to casinos around the country.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Ramsey. He is survived by his wife Barbara, sister Judith Caveney, children Rick Ramsey (Alice), Jennifer Ramsey, grandchildren Megan Iliff (Nate), Brandi Eason (Zach), Carley Lee (Matt), and great-grandchildren Ella and Allie Eason. He also had a large extended family including Bill Bryan (Barb), Mike Bryan (Sue), Susie Wineinger (Bill) and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow at Dunlap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
