Edith Irene Houser, 85, of Clinton, IN passed away at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday February 8, 2017 in her daughter's residence in Clinton. She worked many years as an inspector at Midland Glass Company at Terre Haute. She was born March 14, 1931 in Palestine, IL to Martin Murdock and Mabel Thomas Murdock. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Houser Sr.. Survivors include: three children Jimmie Houser and his wife Nancy of Terre Haute, Debra Wiltermood and her husband Mike of Clinton, and Darrell Houser Jr. and his wife Denise of Pelzer, SC; a brother Clifford Murdock of Palestine, IL; seventeen grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son David Houser; three brothers William, Raymond, and Joe Murdock; and two sisters Eunice Lamb and Genieve Osborn. Edith enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until service time Saturday. Cremation has been scheduled after services with burial of her ashes to be in Bethesda Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Of The Wabash Valley.
