Elizabeth Louise "Betty" (Passe) Shadow

Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Shadow (Passe), 91, formerly of West Terre Haute, IN passed away on June 14th 2018, in Gibson City IL.  Betty was born December 20th, 1926 in Wabasha County Minnesota to Herbert and Myrtle Passe.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother Gerald A. Passe, husband John W. Shadow Sr., son John W. Shadow Jr. and two grandsons John W. Shadow III and Aaron L. Shadow.

Survivors include her brother Kenneth Passe (Sharon), daughter Gail South (Butch), daughter in law Joyce Shadow, and also Brenda Shadow.  Grandchildren Kimberly Howard Shadow (Matt), Tina Shadow (John III), Michelle Lawson South (Victor), & Tammy South.  Great-grandchildren Aaron McCullough, Austin Howard, Jenna Howard, Zane Shadow.

Family would also like to mention and give special thanks to life-long family friend E. Dale Cassidy for his endless help and for always being there during their times of need.

Betty was married to John W. Shadow Sr. on July 7th 1949 for 59 years before his passing in 2008.  Both Betty and John Sr. owned and operated Shadow Sign Company and Shadow Auction Barn for many years together.  Betty enjoyed being outside, her love of flowers including her roses as well as mowing out on the land.   Throughout her life she also enjoyed working at the auction barn, which led to her collection of many beautiful antiques and collectables.

Visitation will be Saturday July 7th at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., West Terre Haute.  Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Barnhart/Madden Cemetery.  The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Elizabeth Shadow Memorial Fund with envelopes available in the funeral home.
