Emmett C. Cole, Sr.

Emmett C. Cole, Sr., passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 in his home.

He was born February 15, 1949 in Terre Haute to Edgar Cole, Sr. and Emma Taylor Cole.

Emmett served in the United States Army for twenty years and completed a tour in Vietnam during the war. He worked as a Lieutenant at the US Penitentiary for twenty-two years. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He loved his family and they were the most important thing to him.

Emmett is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Carol Culver and Evelyn Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Eddy Cole. He and Vicki were married on November 4, 1966 and were together a total of 56 years. He is also survived by his sons, Emmett Cole, Jr. (Shona) and Sean Cole (Jennifer); his daughters, Krystal Cipriano and Caroline Gaines; his brother, Edgar Cole, Jr.; and his beloved grandchildren, Kelsie Fulk, Ariel Corn, Sean Cole, Jr., Hayleigh Cole, Emmett Cole III, Johnathan Cole, William Maas, Amber Maas, Melody Maas and Karissa Maas; as well as seven additional grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Curtis Mitchell will be officiating; burial ,with military honors,  will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
