Evelyn Rose (Forster) Anderson passed away on July 9th in Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus where she was in the care of the kind and loving staff of Harrison’s and Kindred Hospice. Evelyn’s family wishes to thank everyone who contributed to her care.
Evelyn was born June 21, 1931, to Lawrence and Catherine (Flinn) Forster in Edgar County, IL. She graduated from Concannon High School in 1949. On February 5, 1950, she was united in marriage with Paul Anderson who preceded her in death on November 10, 2010.
Evelyn and Paul had 4 children, Mary Catherine (Tom) Bryan of Paris IL, Marilyn (Jerry) Hixon of Indianapolis IN, Ken (Ken Higgs) Anderson of Terre Haute, and Cynthia (Steve) Phelps of Dana, all of whom survive.
Evelyn is also survived by 6 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Evelyn had several jobs both paying and volunteer during her life, including being one of the founders of “The Helping Hands” in West Terre Haute. Both she and Paul were very proud to have been a part of this organization as well as the Providence Food Pantry in West Terre Haute. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of West Terre Haute.
Per Evelyn’s request there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at New Providence Cemetery at 11:00 am (Indiana time) on Wednesday, July 13, 2022; Officiated by Pastor Ed Gladish.
