Frederick Lee Brockmeier, 77 of New Goshen, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 in Union Hospital. He was born in Vigo County on May 26, 1945.
Fred proudly served three years during the Vietnam War period in the U.S. Army. After retiring from CF Industry, he became the owner/operator of FLB Trucking. He bled gold and green for his beloved Packers. His passion was restoring hot rods, riding his motorcycles, and his family. He will be greatly missed by all.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Rose Brockmeier, and their three sons; Lee Brockmeier (Analiza), Clint Brockmeier (April), and Andy Brockmeier, and grandchildren; Kelsea Skinner (Roy), Lia Brockmeier (Caleb), Chance Brockmeier, Olivia Butterman, and Spencer Butterman. He is also survived by three sisters; Phillis Jenkins, Mary Lu Zimmerman (Tom), and Ruthe Harney (Kenny), two sisters-in-law, Debbie Mason (Floyd), and Lynne Jackson, as well as a brother-in-law, Norman Jackson (Judy), also his friend who he loved like a brother, Larry Black, and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved like his own. He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Harvey and Lucille Brockmeier, his adoptive parents, Carl and Linnie Brockmeier, his son, Joey Brockmeier, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sibbie and Norman Jackson, special brother-in-law Curt Jackson, three brothers; Chuck Brockmeier, Leslie Brockmeier, and Lee Brockmeier, and four sisters; Hilda Harvey, Willadean Dowell, Betty Wallace, and Shirley Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Patrick Shay officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Riley Children’s Hospital in memory of Joey Brockmeier.
