George Belleu

George Belleu Sr., 72, of Terre Haute passed away at 10:00 p.m. Friday April 1, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his family. He retired from the Vigo County Highway Department after sixteen years of service. He was born February 15, 1944 in Terre Haute to Jasper "Jack" Belleu and Florence Thomas Belleu. Survivors include: His Wife of fifty two Years Phyllis Belleu whom he married on March 6, 1964; four daughters Sharron "Sherrie" Rogers and her husband Mike, Minnie Walker and her husband Kenny, Phillis "Dar" Hoke and her husband Deano, and Georgia "Jeannie" Hargis and her husband Storm; a son George "Bub" Bellue Jr. and his wife Sally; two sisters Anna Howard and Martha Cordell; a brother Frank Belleu; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren including a great granddaughter whom was his special princess, Maddison. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Joe Eddy, Tom Belleu, and Cecil Belleu; and three sisters Stella, Bonnie, and Sis. George was a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on and restoring antique vehicles. Funeral services for George will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Alkire officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday. The family kindly suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the George Belleu Memorial Fund with envelopes available in the funeral home.
