Harriet J. Reed

Harriet J. Reed, 88, of Prairie Creek, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2019.

She was born May 29, 1930 in Long Lake, New York to Howard Rollman and Mary Brown Rollman.

Harriet was the Co-Director of the Sea Breeze Manor Retirement Home. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and a long- time supporter of various missionary work. She loved nature, flowers and  Hymns, but most of all, she loved the Lord.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Edward Reed, who passed away March 18, 2008; her daughter, Christine Woodberry; her son-in-law, Jim Woodberry; her sister, Louise Henderson; and her grandson, Stephen Reed.

She is survived by her sons, Reverend Daniel Reed and his wife, Melissa, of Loganton, PA; and Reverend Mark Reed and his wife, Tina of Bicknell, Indiana; her daughter, Debbie Fennell and her husband, Reverend Terry Fennell, of Prairie Creek; her brothers, Elliott Henderson and Floyd Henderson; her sisters, Rose Sykes and Lillian Shumway; and 12 grandchildren; Valerie Winter, Wesley Reed, Timothy Reed, Joseph Reed, Trenton Fennell, Amanda Tan, Heather Reed, David Reed, Katherine Secrest, Emily Reed, Samuel Woodberry, and Niki Midgett, as well 12 great grandchildren and many others she “mothered” along life’s course.

Services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana; with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The Reverend’s Mark Reed, Dan Reed and Terry Fennell will be officiating; burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
