Haylee Erin Sullivan - Nelson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Haylee Erin Sullivan-Nelson, born April 27, 1985, and passed away on March 16, 2025 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, after a brief battle with cancer.

Haylee is survived by her mother Debi Butts Sullivan and step-father Dale Bohnenkemper, her father Mike Sullivan and step-mother Jackie Sullivan, and her three children, Matthew Rylee, Zoee Allison, and Liam David, who were her world. She is also survived by her brother Michael Sullivan and his wife Gabriella, her nephew Nolan, niece Addison, Haylee’s boyfriend Nicholas Bowser, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Throughout her life she was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, filled with love, kindness and generosity, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Haylee was preceded in death by grandparents Virgil and MaryJo Butts, and Everett and Mary Sullivan, uncle Randy Sullivan, and aunt Cindy Sullivan.

Haylee was an E.A. for the Vigo County School Corporation for several years, and was most recently at Terre Haute North High School, whose staff was extremely supportive of Haylee in a multitude of ways.

Friends and family may reminisce and celebrate Haylee’s life on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haue, IN from 3:00 – 7:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. Cremation will follow services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to “Haylee’s Village”, in support of her three children.

The family would like to thank Haylee’s medical team through Union Health, Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, and many members of Haylee’s Village led by her aunt Susan Treash and many loved ones.
