Hazel "Buttons" Edna McGregor

Hazel “Buttons” Edna McGregor, 71, of Terre Haute, passed away October 7, 2024, in Union Hospital. She was born to George Ross and Florene Akers. She worked at Union Hospital as a housekeeper for more than 35 years. She had a green thumb and love to garden. She was strong willed, independent, selfless person the kind of person that took care of everyone. She raised four girls on her own.

She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, brother George Ross, sister; Hazel Wright, Janet Moss, and Debbie Mitchell, and a grandchild, Michaela Bicard.

She is survived by daughters, Rosia Bicard, Rebecca Hoopingarner, Sheryl McGregor, and April McGregor, sisters; Georgia Mae Green, Sharon Beasley, Misty Akres, Leona Akers, and Charlene “Kay” Akers, Grandchildren: Kelcey Wheeler (Brandon), Fabian Bicard, Shaley Judy, Frank Blair (Caitlyn Smith), Mary Hoopingarner, Delorean Blair, Halie Jade, Kadesha Pashall, Maliyah McGregor, great grandchildren, Kambrie, Brynlee, Kaiya Wheeler, Frank, Katileigha, Keizer “Hossman” Blair, Marley Porter, Ellie Wilson, Clyde and Fletcher Bicard, and Waylon Weger. services for Hazel will be on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 6 pm in Fitzpatrick funeral home, 220 N. 3rd St., West Terre Haute, Indiana, 47885. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4 pm until service time on Thursday at the funeral home, Pastor John Wheeler will officiate.
