Jack R. Lowe, 89 of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:03 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in his residence. He was born in Vigo County on September 3, 1929 to John R. Lowe and Mable O. Jeffers Lowe.
Jack retired from Tri-Industries after 33 years of service. He was an Air Force Veteran, having served in the Korean War. His memberships include the Dresser Church, Life Member of VFW Post # 6574, American Legion Post # 346, and served as Grand Commander of the Indiana Military Order of C.O.O.T.I.E.S., Social Lodge # 86 F & AM, and Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.
Jack is survived by Steve and Paula Fortune, who were like a son and daughter to him. He is also survived by a special nephew, Fredrick Parkhurst, and a special niece, Millie White. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law; Nancy Jones and Martha Jones as well as many nieces, nephews, grandkids, and cousins. He married Patricia A. Jones Lowe on November 4, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 2016.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 12 Noon, with Pastor Buddy White officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, with military honors provided by West Terre Haute VFW Post # 6574. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be given by Social Lodge # 86 F & AM on Monday at 6:00 PM.
