Jack Pruitt, 80 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born in West Terre Haute on February 27, 1943 to Elbert Pruitt and Evelyn Wells Pruitt.
Jack was a painter and member of the Painter’s Local # 104. He was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame and formed the band “Jack Pruitt and the Country Diamonds” which later became known as “The Pruitt Brothers”.
Jack is survived by his wife Debi Pruitt and his three children; Jody Stranahan (Chuck), Jack Pruitt (Tammy), and Jamie Pruitt (fiancé Sommar). He is also survived by two grandchildren, Josh Curtis and Casey Curtis, two great grandchildren, Kyle Black and Matthew Crabb, his siblings; Jerry Pruitt (Loretta), Dixie Price, Ronald Pruitt (Susie), Steve Pruitt (Rosie), and Roxie Zigler (Dave),
as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Connie Wheeler Pruitt, great granddaughter Trinity Crabb, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday in the funeral home.
