Jack Eugene Switzer

Jack Eugene Switzer Sr, 80 of Terre Haute Indiana, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 23, 2021 in his home.  He was born June 20, 1941 in Terre Haute to Robert and Lillian (Hughes) Switzer.  Survivors include six children:  Jack & (Karen) Switzer, Terry Switzer, Torie & (Pam) Switzer, Betty & (Tommy) McAdams, Gary & (Rose) Switzer, and James & (Amy) Switzer.  Siblings:  James & (Betty) Switzer, Marie Switzer, Earl & (Norma) Switzer, Carl & (Martha) Switzer, Bill & (Kay) Switzer, Harry & (Nandy) Switzer, Paul & (Paula) Switzer,  Mary & (Robert) Montgomery, Betty Patterson, Danny & (Freida) Switzer, and Becky & (Billy) Wilson.  He had several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and foster grandchildren.  He also has several nieces and nephews that he thought the world of.  He was proceeded in death by one daughter Lorie Ree Switzer, his beautiful wife Betty Jo, his parents, three brothers, and one sister.  After the passing of his wife Betty, he took on the care of their little dog Boots.  Dad found great joy in spoiling his dog, he often took her to the Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat.

Jack was a carpenter, an evangelist, and then became a pastor.  He pastored for many years prior to his retirement.  His hobbies included buying used cars, trucks, and tractors to fix up and sell.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, often taking them an unlimited supply of fish from Earl’s in West Union.  Funeral services for Jack will be on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 6:00 PM in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating.  Burial will be in Watson Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 4:00 until service time in the funeral home.

The family would like to give a person thank you to Dr. Trench.  Dr. Trench has provided exceptional podiatry care to our father since 2016.  He would often take time out of his busy schedule to come our father’s home.  Thank you, Dr. Trench, we appreciate your genuine care and concern for our father.
