James L. Bigger

James L. Bigger, 95, of West Terre Haute passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Clinton Gardens.

James was born June 2, 1923 in Monroe County, Indiana to Clifford Bigger and Grace L. Swafford Bigger.

He was a press operator at Hulman & Company and had also worked as a truck driver at Romas Trucking. James was a member of Grace Chapel in West Terre Haute.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Beulah Marion Harvey Bigger, who passed away December 21, 2001; his son-in-law, Russell Kempa; and his grandson, James Kempa.

He is survived by his sons, James Mitchell Bigger and his wife, Cathy, and John Harvey Bigger and his wife, Deanna; his daughter, Leora Gayle Kempa; his brothers, Robert Bigger, Clifford E. Bigger and Paul E. Bigger; his special friend, like a brother, Francis Whitesell; his sister, Eva Ritchey; his grandchildren, John L. Bigger, Scott Bigger, Laura Mills, Glenda Weise, Sarah Bigger, Eric Bigger, Shannon Mills, Amber Gaytan; and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Paul M. Bigger, Rev. David Bigger, Rev. Scott Mills and Rev. Eric Bigger will be officiating; burial with military honors will be in Bethesda Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Chapel, 645 South 3rd Street, Clinton, Indiana, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
