James E. Mott

James E. Mott, 77 of Sullivan, IN and formerly of West Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in his residence.  He was born in Terre Haute on January 24, 1946 to Ernest L. Mott and Viola Moreland Mott.

Jim was a retired crane operator with Sussman Salvage Yard for 38 years.

Jim is survived by his wife Patricia Shepard Mott who he married February 24, 1967 and their two children, Cathy Kearschner (Alfred) and James Mott, his grandchildren; Chris Mott (Mandy), Heather Kearschner, Alfred Kearschner, Jr. (Brittany), and Clarence Kearschner, as well as his great grandchildren; Tyler Kearschner, Adrien Cottom, Ashton Cottom, Isabella Cottom, Mya Kearschner, and Braun.  He is also survived by three great great grandchildren; Jordan Kearschner, Natalie, and Sienna Cottom, as well as his brother, Richard Mott (Patricia), and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jack Mott and daughter in-law Tracey Curtis Mott.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Buddy White officiating.  Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his wife Patricia.
