James E. Pickard, Sr

James E. Pickard, Sr. 79, of West Terre Haute passed away March 17, 2018. He was born October 10, 1938 in Newberry, Indiana to Clovis and Louise Pickard. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma (Barnard) Pickard, whom passed away February 8, 2016; three sisters, Patricia Pickard, Marlene Henneman and Linda Shell; and his daughter-in-law, Cindy Pickard. James is survived by his two sons, James Pickard Jr. and Michael Pickard; and his sister, Deronda Burroughs. James retired from Westfield Steel in 2004. He and Wilma were married 55 years. Together they enjoyed attending festivals, Amish shops and garage sales. James loved the outdoors. He spent many hours fishing, hunting and gardening. James was a lifelong member of the New Goshen Fire and Rescue. He loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and NASCAR. Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Goshen Fire and Rescue. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
