James E. Preston, 76 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 in his residence.  He was born in Vigo County on June 3, 1946 to James L. Preston and Kathryn I. Strole Preston.

James retired from J.I. Case and was also a farmer.  His memberships include the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge # 687, Zorah Shrine Valley of Terre Haute, and the Kerman Grotto.

James is survived by his four daughters; Kristie Preston, Lori Frey (Ned), Kathryn Agnew (Jeff), and Rebecca Preston (Dusty Porter), as well as six grandchildren; Chelsea Dimond, Nicole Dimond, Seth Frey, Luke Frey, Emma Frey, and Brynn DeBaun, and six great great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara O’Neill and Patricia Reese.  He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a sister, Elizabeth Pope.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Kathy Roush officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
