James David Richey Sr., 61, of Terre Haute passed away at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday February 7, 2017 in his home after an extended illness. He had been the owner operator of Sandcut Paint and Body Shop for many years and later worked as a glass man for Kasameyer Glass Company in Terre Haute for seventeen years. He was born December 7, 1955 at Terre Haute to David E. Richey and Janet R. Cooper Richey. Survivors include: a son James David Richey Jr.; a daughter Angela Ruth Richey; his Mother Janet R. Richey; three sisters Janice Richey VanVactor (Bill), Connie Schimmel (Dave), and Tina Taube (Patrick); a brother Terry Richey; four grandchildren: Trenton James Richey, James Hamilton III, Dalton Hamilton, and Taryn Hamilton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents Jesse and Fay Richey and Audrey and Mary Cooper; and aunts and uncles Paul and Pat Steed, Morris and Judy Jones, Sally Richey, Phil Richey, and Bill Richey. He enjoyed doing paint and body work on automobiles and he was always willing to help friends out in any way he could. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Leek officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday.
