Janice Kay Buchanan, 80, of West Terre Haute, peacefully passed away on January 25th, 2025. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on December 19th, 1944, to Stanley Fisher and Mary Lou Fisher (Sellers).
Janice graduated from high school in Coal City, IN in 1962. After high school she worked at Columbia House for 20+ years until she retired. After her time at Columbia house she would go on to manage the Waffle House in Terre Haute and then the Texico gas station in Oklahoma. Janice attended the Church of Christ. In her younger years Janice loved to play softball. She spent her time surrounded by her loving family, playing board games and card games with her grandkids, she was always the biggest cheater at the table. She continued to play games with her grandkids up until the day she couldn’t do it anymore.
She is survived by her children; Kyle (Tina) Harden, Troy (Tammy) Harden, Clayton Buchanan (Candace), Richard Buchanan, Patricia (John) Bowden. Grandchildren; Sheena (Bill) Stranahan, Brandy (Mallory) Schwab, Cody (Michelle) Harden, Jessica Harden (Dre), Darrick (Laci) Harden, Hunter Bowden, Duggin Wilkins (Melanie), Samual Bowden, Alathia (Carter) Lycan, Torie Buchanan, Athena Johnson. As well as 15 great-grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters.
She was proceeded in death by; her parents, Stanley and Mary Lou Fisher, Sister Linda Ramer, daughter Michelle Harden, son Charles Umphries and grandson Blithe Wilkins.
In keeping with her wishes cremation was chosen.
Fitzpatrick Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
