Jayce Blue Montgomery

West Terre Haute – Jayce Blue Montgomery, 42, went to be at home with the Lord at 4:20 p.m. on May 26, 2021.  Jayce was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on June 19, 1978, to Ruth Harmon Montgomery and Dane “Bud” Montgomery.  Jayce’s life was very full of close family and best friends, which honored and adored him just the same.

Preceded in Jayce’s passing are Louanna Duvene Harmon, William Charles Harmon, Arbie Dean Montgomery, Barbara Ann Montgomery and Brent Allan Montgomery.

Survivors include the light of his life, his son Cogan Blue Montgomery, fiancé April Vore, mother Ruth Anna Harmon Lasure (Rick) and father Dane “Bud” Montgomery (Charless Kay), brothers, Tad Arthur Montgomery and Dustin Wayne Montgomery sisters Jennifer Lee Lasure Balka (Mike), Brandie Jo Lasure (Danny).; and Cogan's mother, Lisa Montgomery.    Also surviving are his grandfather, Larry Vanlandingham (Sharon), and two nieces and two nephews, Tailar Daugherty and Colin Daughtery along with Cole Pohlor and Cecilia Pohlor, and other extended family.

Jayce was a Union Concrete Finisher for Dennis Trucking in the Local 204 Laborers Union.  He also was a longtime Member of the Young Men’s Club in West Terre Haute.  Jayce was an avid sportsman and hunter and enjoyed being outdoors while camping, fishing, coyote hunting and motocross.  His pure joy was riding his Harley.  One of his greatest pleasures was also riding his side-by-side with all of his buddies and always having a great joke to tell anyone.

Jayce’s constant companion was his dog Bently and he provided him with a nickname of “Scoob”.

In lieu of flowers the family graciously asks to provide your expression of sympathy to the Jayce Blue Montgomery Benefit Fund through First Financial Bank.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating.  In keeping with Jayce’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
