Jim W. “Bud” Griffin, 77 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in his residence. He was born in Vigo County on February 21, 1944 to William Griffin and Jeanette Slavens Griffin.
Bud was owner/operator of Griffin’s Mobile Power Wash and had also served as a West Terre Haute City Policeman as well as working for the state highway department. He previously served as a West Terre Haute Town Board Member, was a long-time Board Member of Bethesda Cemetery, and was a former volunteer fireman.
Bud is survived by seven children: Melissa Craft (Mike), Shelley Thomas, Bob Beasley (Dawn), Jimmy Milam (Jeri), Diana Hinote, Donna Brown (Ronnie, Sr.), and Tammy Hinkle. Also surviving is one sister, Virginia Funkhouser, and grandchildren: Brittany Streich, Lacey Geeser, Griffin Cassagne, Lucas Thomas, Emma Thomas, Joshua Beasley, Mathew Beasley, Zoey Morris, Alana McCalister, Terri Lynn Roberts, Bobbie Hinote, Ronnie Brown, Jr., Brian Brown, Buddy Hinkle, Jr., Jessie Hinkle, and Michael Hinkle, as well as several great grandchildren and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Jamie Griffin, and one brother, William Robert “Billy Bob” Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you to perform a random act of kindness in Bud’s memory.
