JoAnn Switzer, 74, of West Terre Haute, went home to be with her Lord on February 7, 2020 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
She was born December 12, 1945 in Caryville, Tennessee to Roscoe Odidious Simpson and Wilma Jo (Baird) Simpson.
JoAnn was a member of West Side Christian Church and various organizations throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe Odidious Simpson; her mother, Wilma Jo Simpson Woolley; her step-father, Robert Woolley; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Jack Fox; brother, Wesley Woolley; mother and father-in-law, Al and Virginia Switzer; and sisters-in-law, Judy (Switzer) Bishop and Barbara (Hunnicutt) Simpson.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gary Switzer, whom she married on January 6, 1963; her children, Christi (Russell) Deal, Carrie (Kim) Kesler, Gary (Faith) Switzer, Douglas (Missy) Switzer, Michelle (Don) Blair and Andrew (Darla) Switzer; her grandchildren, Allen (Morgan) Deal, Adam (Chelsea) Deal, Austin (Tabatha) Deal, Courtney (Zach) Bickett, Sarah Switzer, Stephen Switzer, Seth Switzer, Skylar Switzer, Guy Switzer, Brody Myers, Abigail Switzer, Brenda Switzer, Russell Cox, Dale Cox, Kaleb (Jorden) Blair, Alec Blair, Alyssa Blair, Erik Switzer, Andrea Switzer, Kiale (Morgan) Ellis, Karissa Ellis, Billy (Christina) McKeehan, Brandon (Amber) McKeehan and Anna McKeehan; her 16 great grandchildren (and one on the way), with one on the way. She is also survived by her siblings; James (Angela) Simpson, Ronald (Joyce) Simpson, Maggie (John) Braden, Bob (Cheri) Woolley, Debbie (Joe) Williams and Greg (Pam) Woolley; sisters-in-law, Dianna (David) Withem, Sandy Judy, Barbara (Wayne) Ray, Kathy Corey and Allison (Ricky) Tate; and many nieces and nephews as well as many special friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at West Side Christian Church, 126 N. 8th Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pastor Chris Wilbur will be officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana 47885 was entrusted with care and arrangements.
