John Russell Wyrick Sr

John Russell Wyrick Sr. passed away December 31, 2018 in Okeechobee, Florida at the age of 79. He was born to Wade Wyrick and Julia (Drummond) Wyrick in Marshall, Illinois on February 3, 1939.

He was a 1957 graduate of Concannon High School, then served aboard the U.S.S. Fletcher in the Navy. He was an electrician at Eli Lilly, Clinton, Indiana where he made many lifetime friends and fishing buddies.  He also farmed and kept bees for many years.  After he retired, he moved to Monticello, Kentucky with his wife and mother of his children, Nancy Lee (Wilson) Wyrick, who preceded him in death in 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, and stepmother Margaret Wyrick.

He is survived by wife, Bonnie, two sons, John Wyrick Jr. and his wife Lisa, and David Wyrick, a brother Robert (Bob) Wyrick and his wife Judy, grandchildren Mathew, Nikki and Tyler, step granddaughter Ashley Phelps, and step great grandchildren Dillon and Harper Phelps, step daughter Kim and stepson Keith, nephew Mike and nieces Sherry, Lori and Janet.

There will be graveside services prior to burial in West Lawn Cemetery in Prairie Creek on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Terry Whitlock will officiate.  Per his wishes he was cremated in Florida.
