Johnie Lewis Alexander

Johnie Lewis Alexander, 79 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 6:04 AM on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in his residence.  He was born in Zoe, KY on March 30, 1940 to Omer Alexander and Elizabeth Charles Alexander.

Johnie was one of twelve children and worked as a repairman for Jack’s Small Engine Repair.

Johnie was preceded in death by his parents, by his true love Patsy Dickerson, and a special son, William Dickerson.  He is survived by his children; Rodney Alexander, Penny DeCoudres, Linda Mattox, Verdeana (Richard) Boyles, Richard (Cheryl) Dickerson, Jeannie (Bill) McGonigal, and Sonja Boyd.  Also surviving are his grandchildren; Pam (Torie) Switzer, Kellie (Tony) Johnson, Raymond (Kara) Frye, Kimberly (Andy) Waggoner, Michelle (Kevin) Vinardi, Richard (Adrienne) Boyles, Jr., Brant (Jenny)McNeil, Megan (Darren) Maher, Richard Dickerson, and Krissy (Jason) Elkins, as well as twenty-seven great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Johnie at Westside Christian Church, 126 N. 8th St, West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen with burial of ashes at a later date at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.
