Karen Lea Moss

Karen Lea Moss, 83, of West Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024. 

She was born in Terre Haute on August 16, 1941, to William Edgar Brown and Edith Marie (Stogsdill) Brown. 

Karen attended and was a long- time active member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting other churches, with her husband. Karen truly had a servant’s heart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Other passions include quilting, sewing, cooking, and baking. Karen was a bus driver for the Vigo County School Corporation for over 25 years. 

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Herschel “Jim” Moss, who passed away November 5, 2024; and her son, Kevin Moss. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jerry Moss. 

She is survived by her son, Scott Moss (Lisa); her daughter, Molly Herb (Rodney); her beloved grandchildren, McKinsey Foster (Daulton), Kamdyn Pfeiffer (Ian), Briar Herb (Katie), and Levi Herb; as well as four great grandchildren, Bowen Herb, Coleson Herb, Kohen Foster and Cayson Foster. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Connie Pitner, and brother-in-law, Tim Moss. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 25, 2024, at 12:00 noon with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana. Pastor Larry Snyder will be officiating; burial will follow in Dunlap Cemetery. The family welcomes memorial contributions be made to VNA/Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 400 8th Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana 47808, and or the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
