Kathy Sue "Kate" Hunter

TERRE HAUTE- Kathy Sue “Kate” Hunter, 66 of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Union Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in West Terre Haute on February 6, 1958, to Charles “Gene” Hunter and Helen R. Kasemeyer Hunter.

Kathy was a wonderful cook and loved her friends and family immensely. Her smile lit up a room and she would give the shirt off her back to a stranger in need. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her wife of 36 years, Lynda Fuqua; as well as her brother, Steve Hunter (Sally) and their two children, Amy Barbour (Corey) and Chad Hunter (Kelsey); as well as three great-nephews: Hunter Barbour, Hayden Hunter, Greyson Hunter and her great-niece: Addie Barbour as well as her sister in-law Lori Fuqua (Amanda) and her niece Abigal Fuqua. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Hunter. 

A private family viewing will be held for Kathy. In keeping with her wishes cremation has been chosen. Graveside services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
