Larry Earl Likens

Larry Earl Likens, 76 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 in Union Hospital of Clinton.  He was born in Pax, West Virginia on December 4, 1946 to Everett T. Likens and Barberine Williams Likens.

Larry was owner of Likens Tree Service and served as a volunteer fireman and police officer in West Terre Haute.  He was a member of Red Oak Bass Club, and coached his sons for many years in both West Terre Haute Little League Baseball and West Vigo Community Center Basketball.  Larry loved the West Terre Haute community and never met a stranger.

Larry is survived by his wife Nancy Rowley Likens whom he married August 30, 1969 and their three children; James Likens (wife Jennifer), Michael Likens (wife Robin), and Jami Griffin (husband Matt), as well as his grandchildren; Brant, Josh, Dirk (wife Christina), Brady, Caleb, Lexi (husband Devin), Sadee, and Baylor, as well as several great grandchildren.  He is also survived by a brother, Everett Likens (wife Kathy), and a sister, Pam Bennett (husband Eddie), as well as several nieces and nephews.  He as preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings; Ronnie Likens, Stacy Likens, Odessa Likens, and Sandra Likens.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the funeral home.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the West Vigo High School Fishing Team, in his memory.
