Laura A. Stephens

Laura A. Stephens, 60 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 28, 1964 to Hugh McWhirter and Elizabeth Faye Florey McWhirter.

Laura was a kitchen assistant for the Vigo County School Corporation and enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Laura is survived by her two children, Jeremy Stephens (Kristy) and Stephanie Stephens (James), and her grandchildren; Chase Hedden, BreAisha Stephens, Brenley Stephens, Kendall Richey, and Kyson Compton. She is also survived by three brothers; Hugh McWhirter, Bruce McWhirter, and John Florey, her sister Amy, as well as a lifelong best friend, Teri Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen, with arrangements under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
