Lyda J. (Grabbe) Norton

Lyda J. Norton, 86, of West Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Providence Health Care.

Lyda was born December 27, 1932 in Vincennes, Indiana to Chester Grabbe and Inez McCarty Grabbe.

Lyda was a Teacher’s Aide for the Vigo County School Corporation for many years and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Norton; and two sons, John Norton and Jerry Norton; and her twin sister, Ida McCarter.

Lyda is survived by her daughter, Julie Fisk (Gary); granddaughter, Melissa Lilly (Seth); grandchildren, Masyn and Jayce; her brother, Fred Grabbe; and niece, Jennie Woolverton: along with many other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Cremation has been chosen with burial of ashes in Bethesda Cemetery at a later date. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana was entrusted with care and arrangements.
