Matthew Wayne Buchanan

Matthew Wayne Buchanan, 48 of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Union Hospital.  He was born in Terre Haute on June 4, 1973 to Edward Buchanan and Judith Schoffstall Buchanan.

Matthew was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served from 1991-1995 at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas where he was with the 554th Transportation Unit. He was a Staff Software QA Engineer for Genesys Telecommunications for 16 years and enjoyed boating and fishing.

Matthew is survived by his wife Melissa Farris Buchanan whom he married June 15, 1991, also surviving are their two daughters; Courtney R. Buchanan (Clayton Baugh), and Alexis M. Campbell (Justin Campbell), as well as his mother Judith Buchanan.  Also surviving are his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Bristol M. Campbell and James M. Campbell, his siblings; Michael E. Buchanan (Angie), Lisa McElroy (Dennis), and Mark A. Buchanan (Nikki), his father- in -law William R. Farris (Patty), and special aunt, Penny Maynard, and brother-in-law, Scott Farris (Michelle), and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Edward H. Buchanan on March 1, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre, IN on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Rod Maris officiating.  Burial will follow in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 11:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
