Maurice T. Taylor, Jr.

Maurice T. Taylor, Jr., 79 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in Southwood Healthcare.  He was born in West Terre Haute on July 30, 1943 to Maurice T. Taylor, Sr. and Gladys Taylor.

Maurice was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam and Korea in the Army Engineers.  He was a retired truck driver with Teamsters Local # 135 and V.F.W. Post 6574 in West Terre Haute.

Maurice is survived by his two sons; Scott Taylor and Michael Taylor (wife Michelle), as well as two grandchildren; Shelby Taylor Kostolni and Elizabeth Taylor.  He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Penny Heyen (husband Steve), Vickie Cartwright (husband Fred), a brother-in-law, William Black, a cousin, Pam Geiger, and special friend, Helen Vermillion.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Dixie Black Taylor, who preceded him death on May 27, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1:30 PM, with his granddaughter, Shelby Taylor Kostolni officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethesda Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM in the funeral home.
