Maynard Eugene "Babe" Marion

Maynard Eugene “Babe” Marion, 84, of West Terre Haute, Indiana passed away August 23, 2018 in his home.

He was born August 29, 1923 in New Goshen, Indiana to Leonard Marion and Catherine Cox Marion.

Babe was a farmer and retired from Midland Glass. He was a member of St. Mary-of-the-Woods Village Church, Vigo County Farm Bureau, New Goshen Lion’s Club and the Sandford Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former 4-H Leader of the Fayette Farmalls, and a member of the Indiana Pork Producers. Babe enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carole Joann Vinardi Marion, who passed away

June 30, 2013; a son, Mark Eugene Marion; and brothers, Leonard L. Marion, Thomas Marion and Wally Creamer.

Babe is survived by his children, Leonard Marion (Cassie), Timothy Marion (Tammy), Analiza Brockmeier(Lee)  and Kimberly Malott (Mike); a sister, Sandra Darlene Dean ( Darrell); his grandchildren, Bruce Malott (Joette), Olivia and Spenser Butterman, Matthew, Megan and Michaela Marion, Desiree, Courtney, Karlie and Eli Marion, Nathan Bonnett, Kelsea ,Lia and Chance Brockmeier; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, George and Carol Weir and Floyd and Margaret Cheesman, for the loving care they gave our Dad.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary-of-the-Woods Village Church, 3827 North Arms Place, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, with a visitation from 12:00 noon until service time at the church. Father Fred Pasche will be officiating; burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary-of-the-Woods Village Church or Hospice of the Wabash Valley, with envelopes available at the church. A very special thank you to VNA Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the excellent care given to our Dad over the last several months.  Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana was entrusted with arrangements.
