Michael Paul Baker, 57, ofTerre Haute, passed away March 25, 2017. He was born July 12, 1959 in Logansport, IN, the son of Daniel and Laura Baker. He graduated from Delphi HS class of 1977, attended Indiana State University and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Social Work. He obtained his Masters of Social Work in 2002 from IUPUI. He is survived by his wife, Jill Baker, his son, Nathan Baker and his fiance Maria Enriquez, his granddaughter, Liliana Baker and his grandson, Jackson Baker. He is also survived by his mother Laura Baker; his brother Pat Baker and his wife Janet and their children Scott Baker and Julie Moyers. As well as his brother David Baker and his wife Debbie along with their children Alex Baker and Bernie Baker, and his Uncle Thomas and Aunt Bonnie Tesh. Mike worked for over 25 years for Family and Child Services, and for Vigo County Prosecutors Office, Adult Protective Services for 5 years. He also did drug and alcohol counselling for the Vi go County Court System. Additionally, he was an Instructor at Ivy Tech for 6 years. However, his love for the Lord brought him the most joy. His ministry of two churches in West Terre Haute, First United Methodist and Bethesda United Methodist were very close to his heart. He was extremely grateful for the time he was involved with these churches. He loved his church families. Mike was very involved with the Emmaus Community; he enjoyed working and being the chaplain for many Walks. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren, golfing and being with his wife of 35 years. Services will be held Thursday, March 30th at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, IN from Noon-3:00pm with a service to honor his life following at 3:00 with Pastor Aaron Wheaton and Pastor Rick Swan officiating.
