Michael J. Sebring, Sr.

Michael J. Sebring, Sr.72, of West Terre Haute passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 in Signature Healthcare.

He was born January 28, 1946 in Terre Haute to Horace “Doc” Sebring and Kathleen Chapman Sebring Porter.

Michael worked at Prox as a machinist and also sold manufactured homes for many years at Boot City.

He enjoyed “enjoying”. Mike had a passion and a love for cars, owning 200 plus cars. He loved working on cars as much as owning them. He liked to have fun, shoot guns and would imbibe in a good cigar.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; and his stepfather, Joshua R. Porter.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael J. Sebring, Jr. and Thomas M. Sebring; his grandchildren, Sara Sebring and Thomas H. Sebring; his great grandson, Keaton Herman; and his niece, Juanita Pifer, who was at his side when he passed away. He is also survived by ex-wives, Sharon Lowe, the mother of his sons, and Merita Sebring; special friend, Doris Silcock and her family; and good friends, Tim Pinkston, Bob Laney, and John Marshall.

Mike’s family would like to thank all the staff and doctors who helped care for him, especially the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care at Union Hospital, Heart to Heart Hospice, 3rd floor Oncology Unit at Union Hospital , Dr. Melhem Jabbour and Pastor Butch Leek.

In honor of Mike’s wishes, cremation was chosen. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana was entrusted with arrangements.
