Michael Claude Swinford

Michael Claude Swinford, 59 of Greenwood, IN and formerly of West Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 in Franciscan Health Hospital of Indianapolis.  He was born in Blanford, IN on March 8, 1962 to John Swinford and Norma Hickman Swinford.

Michael was a maintenance technician at Berry Global in Franklin, IN, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He was a huge sports fan, and enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts, but his favorite team was the Indiana Pacers.

Michael is survived by his son Brandon Michael Swinford (Gena) and Brandon’s mother Tina Holloway, a daughter, Autumn Reisinger (Elijah), and grandchildren; Kaitlyn Swinford, Drake Swinford, (and their mother Cassandra) Tyler Sanchez, Kyle Sanchez, and Jeremiah Sanchez.  Also surviving are his nine siblings; Sharon Wagner, Linda Jordan, Beverly Andrews, Jo Anne Hixon, Barbara Holmes, Carla Wallace, Gail Bryan, Jan Clifton, and Johnny Swinford, his aunt Marcella Foncannon, and his best fur friend, Zed Little Bear, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Richard Swinford, and grandmother Irene Hickman.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Jeff Russell officiating. Private burial will follow in Barnhart Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Sunday from 12 noon until time of service.
