Noble Leon McCarter

Noble Leon McCarter, 89, of West Terre Haute passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 in Harrison Crossing Health Center. He was born July 17, 1929 in Vincennes to James Russell McCarter and Marjorie Joslin McCarter.

Leon was an engineer at J.I. Case. He was a 1947 graduate of Carlisle High School and served in the United States Army and Navy. Leon enjoyed gardening, fishing, horseback riding, bird watching and working in his yard.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Midge Grabbe McCarter. Leon and Midge were married March 4, 1951 until her passing on December 5, 2009.

Leon is survived by his three sons, James, Jeffrey and John McCarter; his three grandchildren, Stacey Mundy (Jerry), Jeffrey McCarter, Jr., and Dustin McCarter; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana 47885, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Randy Smith will be officiating; burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
