Norma J. Nelson July 25, 1928 – August 23, 2024

Norma J. Nelson, age 96, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024. Born in Marion, Indiana, on July 25, 1928, Norma lived a life full of love, devotion, and care for her family and community. She resided in various cities throughout her life, including Fort Wayne, Princeton, and Terre Haute, Indiana.

Norma was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to crochet, cooking, playing games and spend time with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and strong spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond, and her daughter, Janice, Son’s Chester and Chuck. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jane. She also leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren: Eric (Cynthia) Garrison, Cheri Banks, Carri Canada (Kelly), Cassi Price (Roy), and Becky Ward (Derek), as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Norma's final resting place will be in Upland, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley, an organization that provided comfort and care during her final days.

 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."

Norma will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In keeping with Norma’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
