Pearl L. Akers

Pearl L. Akers, 84 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was born in West Terre Haute on February 14, 1939, to Raymond Akers and Lela Thomas Akers.

Pearl was a member of Community Church of Greenwood for many years. Church was her life, and she was involved in many different ministries and worked as a missionary for One Mission Society. She participated in Bible Study Fellowship for many years and enjoyed watching the Indiana Fever, the Colts, as well as attending the Indianapolis Symphony and Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre.

Pearl is survived by two brothers, Dale Akers (Joan), and Paul Akers, Sr., and her sister Clara McCalister. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews; Craig Akers (Stacey), Tina Kidd (Garner), Tammy Alkire, Alan McCalister (Lisa), Marty McCalister, and Cindy Billingsley and her daughter Isabella Billingsley, loyal friend John Van Abeele, and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Dick McCalister.

Funeral services will be held at World Gospel Church, 900 Gardendale Road, Terre Haute, IN 47803 on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM, with Eric Beachy officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 12 Noon – 1:00 PM in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to One Mission Society and or Alzheimer's Society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
