Ralph William Pine Sr.

Ralph William Pine Sr., 87, of West Terre Haute passed away at 9:20 a.m. Thursday October 22, 2020 in his home. He retired as a coal miner after forty years of service with the United Mine Workers Association. Throughout his career he worked at several area coal mines beginning as an underground miner with Snow Hill, Viking, and Green Valley Mines and later retiring as a drag line operator from Amax Coal Mine.

He was born July 14, 1933 in West Terre Haute to William Perry Pine and Valeria May Evans Pine.

Ralph is survived by his wife of sixty seven years, Patsy Carpenter Pine whom he married on February 27, 1953 in West Terre Haute. He is also survived by five children: Debra Watson (Tom), Michael Pine Sr. (Kim), Candy Scavone (John), Doug Pine (Terrie), Kathy Plantz (Tom); fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Ralph Pine Jr., a brother Perry Wayne Pine, two sisters Rosetta Milam and Deloris Smith; and a grandson Stephen Pine.

He was a member of the Rosedale Masonic Lodge, he was a 32nd degree.

According to his wishes cremation has been arranged. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
