Randy Lee Monnett,75, went to heaven May 25, 2022. He was born March 21, 1947 to Clifford Monnett and Ethel Monnett in Terre Haute, IN.
Randy served his country as an Army Motor Transport Operator in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After arriving home, he married his wife Marie and spent the next 54 years together raising 3 children. He was a 25-year member for the Sugar Creek Fire Department in West Terre Haute. Randy worked for IMC (Pittman-Moore) for 25 years, MAB Paints, and Novelis were he retired from in 2016. Randy spent his whole life with his family, there wasn’t a game, event or get together he wasn’t at. Randy always had a knack to be the phone call to help with everyone’s projects, he could fix anything. He loved to spend his time in the yard or working in the garage. He loved to decorate his yard during Christmas time and make his house light up the block. Randy made the best German chocolate cake and loved to cook out on the grill. You would never see him without a smile on his face, his grandkids and great grandkids were the light of his life. He will be missed by many friends and family but they will take the many great characteristics and memories he left behind.
Randy is survived by wife Marie; and three children; LeAnn(Mark) Hubbard, Robin Monnett, Randy(Amanda) Monnett II. Two brother Paul(Marie) Engles, Barry(Kelly) Monnett. Seven grandchildren; Josh (Shelby)Hubbard, Jacob(Kaytee) Hubbard, Rusty (Kayla) Monnett, Amie Monnett, Zac Stover, Kamren and Colten Monnett. Three great granddaughters; Elizabeth Ann Hubbard, Isabella Hubbard, Molly Monnett.
Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St, West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Tom Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Dunlap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
